The Crib Demo, originally released November of 2022, is my first official album released on all streaming platforms. I pulled a Dr. Dre and continued to work on the songs even after I published the album until it was secondly released September 16, 2024 by an independent record label Kneifl Gear.

 

All instruments, including various drum sets and synthesizers on an Akai MPK II, were played by me. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in Presonus Studio One. A good amount of the music from this was inspired by Oasis, Madrugada, The Decemberists, The Goo Goo Dolls, The Beatles, the local, multi-talented David Chamberlain and Neon Light’s lead singer and guitarist Emma Sue.

 

My taste in music has been said to be bizarre or ‘not good’ from multiple friends and peers throughout the years, but I never paid it any mind. It has always been diverse, so I wanted the album to be like that as well. I know an advantage I had of creating a good album was to make it diverse and give it a variety of sounds and genres. Even if someone doesn’t enjoy alternative rock or grunge and ballads, I’d like to think there’s something in the setlist that they might enjoy. Also, rock is a broad genre, so the opportunity to create songs within different sounds was right in front of me.
